“Small place, but really good food!
Nice brunch spot ☕️
Lemon toast wasn’t my fave, but the berry & cream cheese was great 😋
Wanna try the pasta, curry, and black sesame next time 😎”
“I couldn’t resist the allure of the beautifully crafted toasts and had to give them a try. While they were definitely worth the experience, I wouldn’t splurge on them regularly—more of a one-time indulgence for me. That said, the chicken katsu was absolutely delicious, and I’d explore their other options on my next visit.
The ambiance is charming, though the space is quite small, so I’d recommend arriving right when they open. It’s a great spot to bring out-of-town visitors, but as a local, it’s not somewhere I’d frequent. Still, it’s undeniably a cute and memorable space”
“Coffee review:
There are 2 separate parts of Davelle, the right side is a small espresso cafe and the left side a small restaurant.
I just went in the espresso cafe for a cappuccino to go, and was not disappointed.
Better coffee than most shops in the area.”
“Davelle is a cozy Japanese café and restaurant tucked in the Lower East Side, serving comfort food that feels like home. Their Japanese curry, toast, and coffee sets are delicious and beautifully presented. The interior is small but charming, giving off warm Tokyo café vibes. The staff is kind, soft-spoken, and attentive.
The only downside is the wait — it’s a small space, and during brunch hours, you might have to queue for a while. Prices are slightly high for portion sizes, but the quality is undeniable. If you’re into calm, cozy cafés with heartfelt food and Japanese-style aesthetics, Davelle is the perfect choice. It’s peaceful, authentic, and truly feels like a little piece of Japan in New York City.”
“As someone who lived in Japan for three years, this place is just okay (average). The chicken katsu curry was too watery and the mentai toast was good but nothing spectacular. I would only come back here for coffee or aesthetics.”
“My favorite cafe in the LES! Highly recommend their signature drinks menu. I got the sweet bean latte and it was very good. Their toast is kinda pricey and I only found the savory flavor delicious. Matcha and sweet toast is mediocre so you can pass on those. But i love the vibe overall!”
“The chicken katsu curry was excellent, with a pleasantly spicy sauce. The karaage curry was also delicious.
For dessert, we tried the berry & cream cheese and black sesame & cream cheese on Japanese milk bread. Beautifully presented, though not my personal favorites. Coffee and cappuccino were very good.
Service was a bit reserved, but polite.
The restaurant itself is quite small, so seating is limited — we didn’t have a reservation and waited about 25 minutes on the waitlist. There’s also a charming café next door that belongs to the restaurant and is worth checking out.”
“Visited Davelle after seeing a viral Instagram story, and it turned out to be such a lovely find. It’s a small, cozy spot with a warm vibe that makes you want to stay longer.
I can confidently say I’ve had the best Matcha Lemonade here — hands down. We also tried the Hot Chocolate, Lemon Honey Toast, and Karaage Chicken. I went with my folks, and they absolutely loved everything.
The Lemon Honey Toast was really good, though honestly a bit overpriced for what it is. Still delicious, just could be priced better. The other delicacies, however, were amazing and totally worth the price.
Overall, a charming café with unique flavors that are worth trying at least once. Definitely glad we stopped by!”
